The Council and Recreation

The Town council has the power to acquire land for recreation grounds, public walks and open spaces. To manage and control them.
At the present time the council looks after two playgrounds and the sports field and pavillion.

Park

The Park

This playground was funded by grants, fund raising by the local children from Dulverton Middle school and a lot of hard work by Theresa Williams. It is a lovely place for the children to play. There are picnic benches and the park is located alongside the river.

sports

The Sports Field

Home of Dulverton football and cricket clubs, the juniors train here and hold their soccer tournaments. You can book a game of tennis or squash. The sports pavillion has been revamped and you can go for a quiet drink after a game, although there is a membership scheme in place and at the time of writing I believe it is 10 pounds per annum. The sports pavillion revamp again took a lot of fund raising and again a lot of hard work. Man behind all this is Cllr: Bernard How.

Barnes Close

Just a basic little playpark for the kids. Couple of swings a slide etc, but set in a nice quiet little area. Lots of grass to have a game or two or maybe a sunbathe while the kids are playing.
